Project 2 -Traditional Kitchen Floor
My client has undertaken a large Victorian property which needs complete renovation from top to bottom. The old kitchen units were removed along with the dated vinyl tiles. Surprisingly the floor itself was in good shape and pretty much level and all that was required pre-tiling was to install a crack isolation matting which will help prevent the tiles, and grout lines from cracking and lifting in the future.
As can be seen from the photos, the style of tile used by my client is a lovely traditional ceramic patterened tile. I really enjoyed tiling this kitchen as it made a nice change to use such a bold design and see hour by hour how much of a difference they were making to the room.
The kitchen is currently being installed, and once that has all been finished, i'll be back in again to install a slightly more modern metro-style tile to the splashback areas. Safe to say, i'm really looking forward to going back and seeing how much the property has changed.
