Project 1 - 19th Century Cottage
I was fortunate enough to work on a beautiful country cottage near Leeds. The client wanted to create a traditional look and decided upon a Tumbled Travertine Limestone flooring for the kitchen, and again using the same materials for the bathroom.
The main advantage of this particular style of tile is that no one tile is identical. These tiles are characterised by a subtle gold to cream colour on a tumbled surface and edge to give them that authentic aged look.
The finished floor in the kitchen really compliments the shaker style kitchen and the original features the property already boasts.
The theme continued upstairs to the bathroom to surround the bath/shower area. The bathroom tiles were sealed twice to ensure the additional water they come into contact with do not penetrate the tile and cause them to lift years down the line.
Bespoke skirting boards using the tiles were then created for both kitchen & bathroom to finish off look nicely.
